How to shoot the Dot Torture Target

  1. 1Set up at 3 yards.
  2. 2Dot 1 — Draw and fire one string of 5 rounds slow fire, going for one ragged hole. (5 rounds)
  3. 3Dot 2 — Draw and fire 1 shot, holster, and repeat for 5 single-shot draws total. (5 rounds)
  4. 4Dots 3 & 4 — Draw, fire 1 shot on dot 3, transition and fire 1 shot on dot 4, holster; run 4 passes. (8 rounds)
  5. 5Dot 5 — Draw and fire one string of 5 rounds, strong hand only. (5 rounds)
  6. 6Dots 6 & 7 — Draw, fire 2 shots on dot 6, transition and fire 2 shots on dot 7, holster; run 4 passes. (16 rounds)
  7. 7Dot 8 — From the ready position, fire 5 shots weak hand only — no draw on this string. (5 rounds)
  8. 8Dots 9 & 10 — Draw, fire 1 shot on dot 9, speed reload, fire 1 shot on dot 10, holster; run 3 passes. (6 rounds)
  9. 9Score it: every shot must land inside its dot, and one miss fails the drill. A clean run is 50 of 50.
  10. 10If your range doesn't allow drawing from a holster, start each drawing string from the ready position instead.
  11. 11Once you can shoot it clean, move back to 5, then 7 yards — or add time pressure.
